It all started with Fawn

In early 2022, Fawn’s Family Rescue was founded by me, Areah (pronounced Aria; it’s just spelled a little different) here in the Salt Lake valley. I have been a pet care taker virtually my whole life. For years, I have been an advocate for rescuing animals, but I’ve always wanted to play a more direct role.

My story begun years ago. Like how many adoptions go, we were visiting the a local animal rescue, but we weren’t looking to adopt at the time. We went to the small dog section and saw Fawn. She was this tiny, scared chihuahua mix just tucked in the corner. While everyone gave attention to the puppies and more upfront dogs, we knew we wanted to meet her.

She had come all the way from an overflowing shelter in California. She was next in line to be put down. We take her on a walk, or at least, we tried. She was so paralyzed in fear, she wouldn’t move. I begun to rain. We ended up working with her for over an hour. Finally, she decided to slowly walk towards us. Soon, she was glued to our side. That’s when we knew we had to take her home. Ever since then, she has blossomed into this lovable girl whose only goal in life is to receive belly rubs and love!

She inspired me to rescue more animals and over the years; I end up adopting multiple other rescues and enrolled myself to become a licensed animal trainer. I always knew my passion was with helping animals. With how massive of an impact Fawn and my other rescues made on my life, I knew I had to fight to help more of those in need.

We took in our first official rescue to the foundation back in February, 2022. We are a registered non-profit 501(c)3. Ever since, we have taken over 110 animals and adopted out over 50! We have participated in multiple adoption events and work very intimately with most of the state run shelters.

Right now, we fund this rescue almost exclusively out of pocket. Nothing will stop me from continuing the mission to save homeless pets. So if you would like to support us in what we do, share our social media pages and donate what you can comfortable contribute!
